PRAM is excited to announce an open call for a new logo design!
As we continue to grow and evolve, it’s time to refresh our visual identity. We are inviting PRAM students and professionals to submit original logo concepts that reflect PRAM’s mission, values, and forward-looking vision.
Timeline
All entries must be submitted by midnight on Sunday, March 22.
The new logo will be revealed at the PRAM Conference in Starkville in April.
Design Objectives
The new PRAM logo should:
- Reflect PRAM’s mission and core values
- Be modern, timeless, and distinctive
- Work effectively across digital and print platforms
- Be versatile (scalable for large and small formats), possibly offering a version for portrait display and for landscape display
- Represent professionalism and innovation
What makes a good logo?
- Simplicity: Avoid excessive detail that may be lost when scaled down. A great logo is clean and uncluttered. Simple designs are: easier to recognize, more memorable, and more versatile.
- Memorability: Aim for a unique concept that leaves a lasting impression. A strong logo should be recognizable even after a quick glance.
- Versatility: Versatile designs work in color and black & white, are legible at small sizes, adapt well to different backgrounds, and function across social media, websites, print materials, and merchandise.
- Timelessness: Avoid overly trendy design elements that may quickly feel outdated. Strive for a look that will remain relevant for years.
- Appropriate Typography: If including text: choose fonts that reflect PRAM’s tone (professional, modern, innovative, etc.), ensure readability at all sizes, consider custom lettering for originality.
- Meaningful Use of Color: Color choices should align with PRAM’s identity and message, be harmonious and balanced, and maintain contrast for accessibility. The logo should have the ability to work in multiple color variations for chapter branding.
- Scalability & Technical Quality: Please submit vector-based files (e.g., AI, EPS, SVG) to ensure scalability without loss of quality. PRAM would like to have two versions of the same logo: one version for portrait and one version for landscape.
Submissions
- Submit your logo design (jpg or png is appropriate for design submission, but larger vector format will be requested if your design is chosen)
- Submit a brief concept description (150–300 words) explaining your design choices
